Farmhouse Inn is one of the world’s best kept secrets - a family-owned hotel built like a bespoke work of art, enriching the natural beauty and splendor of Sonoma County.

The magic begins when your car tires roll onto the crunchy gravel path and your eyes catch a glimpse of the private gated entrance. From there you find reception and are quickly whisked away on a tour of the grounds, down a rambling path where you’ll find red roses and perennial salvia. Through another gate and surrounded by stone and hedges is a large saltwater pool, equally suited for lounging or lap swimming on warm sunny days. From the pool you can absorb a 360 degree view of the farmhouse architecture surrounding you, all modeled from the original restaurant structure built in 1875.

The rooms are spacious with many layers of soft furnishings and four poster beds set against white wood paneling. Inside the bathroom, every possible detail has been attended to: a jacuzzi tub, steam shower, and heated marble floors. As the sun sinks beneath the forest of tall pine trees cradling the hotel grounds, the shadows and light begin to play; at dusk, Farmhouse Inn is bathed in endless palettes of blue and yellow

Dinner at Farmhouse Restaurant is a lush experience, replete with a five-course tasting menu and impeccable service. Farmhouse Restaurant was the first to obtain a Michelin Star in Sonoma County, and just like the rest of the property, has been lovingly cared for.

The story of Farmhouse Inn is rooted in family, beginning with siblings Joe and Catherine Bartolomei’s purchase of the property 21 years ago. The Bartolomeis have poured their heart and soul into the property, carefully remodeling, refining, and expanding with each passing year. Joe is an engineer by trade, who by his own description “can’t stop building” and even told us he still does the occasional repair himself. Catherine is a food and beverage connoisseur who expertly guided Farmhouse Restaurant to legendary status. A more recent expansion is the Wellness Barn, a stunning full service spa replete with amazing staff and a full menu of relaxing experiences. Nightly wine tastings are a ritual here, each day is hosted by a different local vintner. Beyond the gates of Farmhouse Inn, you can expect to be treated like family with complimentary private tours and tastings at over 20 winery partners. Nights here are a magical experience, as the property takes on a new dimension and beckons you to take a meandering walk or engage in star-gazing.

Farmhouse Inn combines the natural beauty and splendor of Sonoma County with the love and care of a family who has made their mission to create magical experiences and spark wonder.
