Bardessono is California at its finest; a five-acre luxury eco-friendly resort with a rich family history in the heart of Napa Valley’s Michelin Mile
Named after the Italian Bardessono family, with deep agricultural roots in the Napa Valley dating back to 1926, Bardessono is a luxurious resort with an eco-friendly twist. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Yountville, known as “Michelin Mile” for its array of Michelin-starred restaurants. Bardessono is a study in contrasts; while you’ll benefit from being mere steps away from such marquee restaurants as The French Laundry and Bouchon Bakery, nestled down a long driveway, stepping into Bardessono still evokes the feeling of escapism and privacy.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the hotel’s valet staff who will usher you inside for a glass of Duckhorn wine while you check in. From there you’ll be given a tour of the property, where you’ll encounter contemporary art sculptures and paintings all sourced from prominent regional artists in partnership with Andrea Schwartz Gallery. Inside the rooms, every luxury awaits including outdoor rainfall and indoor steam showers, jacuzzi bathtubs, as well as outdoor bathtubs in select suites. Bathrooms at Bardessono are designed oversized to accommodate full massage and spa offerings in the comfort of your room. After your in-room massage, you can relax with a glass of wine on your own private outdoor patio, or next to the rooftop saltwater lap pool and jacuzzi, offering beautiful views of Yountville and the surrounding mountain ranges. As evening draws near, you can wander downstairs for dinner at Lucy, the hotel’s on-site Californian restaurant named after the Bardessono family matriarch. Nighttime at Bardessono transforms the property into a gorgeous palette of blue sky set against modern architecture with spotlit olive trees adding drama throughout.
When the property opened its doors in 2009, Bardessono was ahead of its time in protecting the environment, becoming California’s first LEED Platinum hotel. Reclaimed wood, solar panels, sustainable water features, and smaller touches such as automatic blinds located outside (rather than inside) the rooms are just some of its earth-conscious features. Exploring Yountville and the surrounding area from the comforts of Bardessono is a frictionless experience. This is courtesy of a fleet of new Lexus vehicles at your disposal, with both sensible and sporty options awaiting.
Being a guest at Bardessono feels special, and a new partnership with Heitz Cellars, an iconic Napa Valley institution embodies this feeling of exclusivity. As part of the Heitz Cellars experience, you will be fetched from reception in the late morning by your driver and tour guide. First, you will stop at one of several Heitz vineyards for your first taste of wine and an up-close glimpse of the grapes. You’ll visit the original stone cellar building where you’ll enjoy a sample of wine tapped from the barrel, enjoy a relaxing lunch and wine pairing, and even have the opportunity to saber a bottle of champagne. Finally, your tour will conclude at The Salon at Heitz Cellar, where you’ll enjoy charcuterie and a red wine tasting set against a breathtaking view.
Bardessono has defined a unique blend of luxury and sustainability, novelty and familiarity, in a region already known for its ability to indulge the senses and pamper.
